Mighty Turtle-Shell Shield

This sucker's an oldie but a goodie. I stumbled across it while rearranging my garage. Heh. I literally had to blow the dust off of this thing. This toy isn't really an action figure. It's more just a knock off Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles toy. You'll see what I mean when ya scope out the pics. 

 
 
 

Here it is! The Mighty Turtle-Shell Shield. As you can see, there is definitely a TMNT theme going on here. 
The box this toy comes in measures 15.5" X 13.5".So this tells ya that the Mighty Turtle-Shell Shield really isn't that big. 

Here's part of the side of the box. Looks like the shell shield comes in two flavors. 
The manufacturers of this toy actually placed their information on the box. Here's what it reads:
1990 Products of Karatron Products Corp. Taipei, Taiwan, Copyright 1990. 
Man, these guys even copyrighted their knock off toy. 
 

Here's the Mighty Turtle-Shell shield. It's about 15" X 13". Just barely fits into the box. This thing is also made of a very hard plastic. 
 

This is the other side of the shield. The shield has a handle in middle of the black portion. You can slide your arms through the strings. 
There is also a compartment and speaker located in the black portion of the back of the shield. 
 


 
 
 
Man, I forgot I even had bought this thing. It's actually a pretty neat toy. If ya strike the center of the shield, the shield lights up and makes a couple of sounds. Obviously the makers were capitalizing on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles phenomenon when they made this. I wonder how many kids got this toy to complement their TMNT halloween costume?
